Basic Data Types Values Examples
Numeric A set of all real numbers
Integer A set of all integers. The L stands for a whole number
Logical This is also known as a boolean: TRUE and FALSE
Complex Used for numbers with real and imaginary parts (e.g., 3 + 2i). The “i” is imaginary
Character This is also known as a string. Examples: “a”, “b”, “c”, …, “@”, “#”, “$”, …., “1”, “2”, …etc.
raw as.raw()
list May contain different data types and even other lists. the list() is used to declare a list.
